They’re not on the invitation list, but maybe it’s time UFOs made an appearance at a G20 summit, argue researchers into the mysterious objects.
And one Canadian authority speculates Earth’s most powerful commanders suddenly have a better chance of getting a glimpse of something strange in the Canadian sky.
Those who are looking for answers into one of the planet’s most stubborn riddles — “What the heck is that up there?” — have been energized by G20 members opening up previously classified UFO documents.
Canada has joined Australia, Britain, France, Spain, Brazil, Sweden and New Zealand in making the papers pubic.
While chronicling bizarre incidents — British air commanders once ordered a pilot to shoot down a UFO before the object vanished — the files haven’t inspired world leaders to bring the mysteries down to Earth.
“With more pressing things on the G20 agenda … it’s unlikely that UFOs would ever come up in discussions,” acknowledges Chris Rutkowski, a Winnipeg science writer and leading authority on UFOs in Canada.
But an unexplained event near a G20 summit might put the issue on the table, he believes.
“In fact, one suggestion is that the recent earthquake just outside of Ottawa might generate — or have generated — some UFO activity throughout southern Ontario,” he explains.
Some — though Rutkowski isn’t convinced — believe UFOs are caused by electromagnetic energy released before and after seismic events.
“Hence, G20 leaders might see some UFOs while in the Toronto area,” Rutkowski says of the theory.
Nick Pope — who once ran the British government’s UFO project at the Ministry of Defence — now helps with the declassification of previously top-secret files.
“It would be fascinating to see the UFO subject raised at the G20 summit,” he tells QMI Agency.
